This year, Samhain spans between Saturday, October 30 and Monday, November 1. Our ceremony and celebration take place on Saturday, October 30.
This ceremony will kick off our celebration of the Winter season, including setting the theme for the next few gatherings. Here is the agenda for our ceremony:
- Greeting and centering
- Full Samhain ritual
- Eisteddfod or reflection (tied to the season and/or discussion topic)
- Share a meal (along with discussion)
- Topic discussion (see below)
The ceremony will be held at Josh & Liza’s home. We will begin at 5:00 PM, so to make sure all attendees arrive with ample time, feel free to come as early as 4:30 PM. Please contact Josh to discuss roles in the ceremony.
Sharing a meal is potluck style; coordinate with the organizer (Josh). Please make sure to let us know if there are dietary restrictions. While we socialize and share a meal after the ritual and eisteddfod, we will engage in our topic discussion. The topic for Samhain is as follows:
The Prayer of Samhain. Light a candle for the ancestors this evening and breathe your blessing upon all who no longer walk in this world. (The Celtic Spirit, Caitlin Matthews)
